Pig Hot Is it safe to feed your dog a hot dog as a treat?
Once in a while I may chop up a hot dog into ways he cannot choke on it to feed it as a treat. He loves it. I just realized that hot dogs are by-products of a pig and dogs shouldn't eat by-products especially in their dog foods. Is it ok to feed a hot dog in moderation or should I just stop period? I want my dog to be healthy.
I think it's just fine to feed him hot dogs once in a while, 5 times a week at most I guess?
I've tried out this kind of thing with my dog too, and he loves it. Although, you shouldn't overfeed him or else it'll become a habit. A dog should have a more nutritious meal other than just hot dogs and bacons. But if it's just for a treat, giving him rolls of protein isn't so bad to me.
