When is the best time of year to travel to New Orleans?
Besides Mardi Gras that is. I know the height of the hurricane season is August-September, but is the weather generally that bad during those months or is it just a roll of the dice that I might end up in the middle of a tropical storm?

I am doing an assignment on Sydney's gay & lesbian Mardi Gras and was curious as to whether is occured (Shrove Tuesday) within Australia's peak tourist season?

The peak tourist season for Australia, like any other country, is summer. For Australia, this is September to March. The Mardi Gras is in February and is a month long festival ending in a carnival. The end of the peak tourist season is not long after the Madri Gras.
