Did you and your Spouse give up anything for Lent?
My husband is a non-participating Catholic, so Lent isn't a big deal for him. I am not Catholic at all, so it's really not for me either, but being from New Orleans, a very Catholic city, where of course Mardi Gras is celebrated by all, Lent is a big deal there. Even all the fast food places change their menu and offer fish on Friday's and such. So sometimes we give up something just to do it...I can't decide what to give up yet...
Have you or will you give up anything for 40 days for Lent?

I am not a catholic and my husband is an atheist, so lent isn't a big deal for us either. But, since we send our children to catholic schools they are taught Lent is a big issue.
I told my children the choice was theirs and we would support them no matter what. My Eldest has decided if she doesn't have to give anything up for lent, she wont(can't blame her as I expected them all to do that) but one of my other daughters actually opted for no junk food, bless her silly little heart:). I wasn't going to give up anything as I never have any other year but I felt like I should support my daughter since she is the only one in the house giving something up and I have decided to give up my coffee for as long as she has no junk.....Sh*t hey! Its going to be a long 40 days, the things we do for our children lol
* I should have given up work instead!
