Matte Light Pink Beads?
Does anybody know where I would find some kind of matte light pink seed beads? I looked through Miyuki Delica's colors, but they do not have a matte pastel pink. Matte, semi-matte, or frosted are what I'm looking for, preferable 11/0 but no bigger than 10/0 and no smaller than 12/0. I think I should use cylinder beads (like Delicas) because I'm weaving and there will be many passes of thread, but regular seed beads will probably be fine if I can find them. I haven't looked though Toho Aiko's colors yet, and I don't really know my way around Czech seed beads. Any help finding some kind of matte light pink seed bead would be great!
The beads are for blackberry flowers (woven in peyote). I was using Ceylon Cotton Candy Delicas, but I don't know if I like the glossy flowers. You can read more (and see pictures) at http://www.freewebs.com/perniciosafaerie/blackberry.htm
If you've already tried delicas and been unable to find a color to your liking I'm afraid cylinder beads may not be an option. For other seed bead options you might try firemountaingems.com, or shipwreckbeads.com, or even e-bay as I have found many unusual colors of seeds there. You might also consider dip & etch, an acid product that will make gloss beads matte as it is a glass etching compound. I hope this helps as I know how frustrating it can be to be unable to find a color you need. If you're anywhere near Los Angeles you could also try Berger's specialty supply downtown as they have a large selection of seed beads in a variety of sizes!
