Should I go or turn it down?
I am engaged to a wonderful guy of 3 yrs, we trust each other but he is kind of a selfish person wanting all my time, I was invited to a Mardi gras ball by a friend that i've known for 4 yrs, (male) we are just friends nothing more, he said he would take care of my dress, my hair, my nails, whatever. It's on Valentines day. I'm 28 yrs old and i have three children, and my oldest son is best friends with his two boys, they go to school together, play baseball on the same teams, so I see him more then my boyfriend. I no it's no harm going because he wouldn't step out of line and we do have fun together, but what should I do? Please tell me what you think, and if I go how to tell my boyfriend? Keep in mind he goes out with his friends to the casino and he never ask or really tells me, he makes no big deal out of it he just goes!!!

What would be a good topic for English Second Language tomorrow night?
I usually prepare a 500 word paper with vocabulary words. It is for advanced students and they are there to mainly expand their knowledge of American culture. I have done previous topics of Mardi Gras, American football, baseball, horse racing, St. Patrick's day, guns, movies broad categories with a lot of emphasis on the rating system, music covering popular American music, cars, and the rodeo. I am feeling sort of empty tonight and would like something else to talk about? Thanks for your answers.
Why don't you make the topic: cultural misunderstanding.
have the students describe a funny cultural misunderstanding they experienced. They can research the roots of this cultural difference. This will be fun for you to read, and fun for them to write.
